Practice Online English
Online English tests school children can do at home
Practice Online English are skills-based multiple choice online tests designed for students in the primary and secondary years of schooling.
Practice Online English test questions are ideal as revision for ICAS English tests and other multiple choice reading and literacy tests such as NAPLAN Reading.
Our English test questions are developed by the same team of literacy experts that develop ICAS English. These tests offer valuable practice in critically reading and interpreting a wide range of real-world text types, from factual and literary texts to poetry and persuasive writing. Practice Online English tests can be taken at home with as much or as little supervision as deemed necessary, and are a great tool to help sharpen and develop a child’s reading comprehension, syntax and vocabulary abilities.
Taking a Practice Online English test lets your child demonstrate their reading and literacy skills over 40 carefully-chosen questions with a recommended time limit of approximately one minute per question. After they have answered all the questions, your child can use Review Mode to do last-minute checks and make changes—an important revision skill for real test preparation. Then, once answers have been submitted, instant feedback is available in the form of a printable report.
Each parent or tutor is also emailed a comprehensive report detailing their child’s overall results and their performance in each area assessed. Also included is detailed feedback about each question and how the child performed compared to other children in the same year level.
Children can revisit their question responses for up to 7 days after receiving their results just by logging back in. This allows them to review their questions and results with a parent or tutor.
