Total Assessment Partnership (TAP)

The Total Assessment Partnership (TAP) provides whole-cohort school data for students from Years 3 to 12 in English, Mathematics, Science and Writing.

It is an innovative partnership program designed to provide schools with assessment and reporting advice and assistance to meet the increasing challenges of reporting student progress against expected standards of achievement.

TAP uses the International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) to gain diagnostic and comparative assessment information that will be of greatest benefit to teachers.

Your Challenges --> Our Solutions

Assessing --> ICAS are broad-band assessments that measure student achievement in the core curriculum areas. They can assist in identifying students with special needs such as gifted and talented or those experiencing difficulties.

Reporting --> The new ICAS diagnostic school reports are provided in hard-copy and electronically; ICAS Online for schools and myICAS online for students give parents and teachers easy to access information to interpret individual student and school results.

Moderating school-based assessments --> Data from TAP school reports can be used as evidence to assist mandatory requirements for student reporting. Comparative data can assist teachers in moderating achievement between classes and year-levels.

Tracking performance and value-adding --> TAP reports track individual student, year-level and school performance over time. Reports measure each year-level’s performance from year-to-year. Schools can measure growth in comparison with previous years and student and year-level progression across all of the years of schooling from Years 3 to 12.

School improvement and annual school reporting --> TAP reports identify particular strengths and weaknesses across all strands within the curriculum areas tested. This information enables teachers to target their professional development and programming to address areas of need and monitor the effectiveness of improvement strategies in the following year’s TAP report.

TAP school reports provide evidence of relative school performance measured over time. The value-added data, trend data and progress reports all provide valuable evidence to demonstrate that schools are making differences.
